Friday fun

These pictures are from Jump Zone this Friday. We always have so much fun climbing and jumping and sliding and playing hide-and-seek there. Anytime someone organizes a homeschool get-together there, there is always a great turnout. I don't usually take my camera with me but did bring it in for a little while this time.






Afterward some of our friends came home with us to spend the night. Here are Maya, Seth (a.k.a. "Salt", but don't ask me why -- they nicknamed him that during their last sleepover a few weeks ago -- he likes the name, and it has stuck), and their friend, Titus, exploring the creek in our neighborhood.

Halloween pictures

We started Halloween morning watching The Nightmare before Christmas and baking pumpkin bread.

Since we were still on Daylight Savings Time for Halloween this year, trick-or-treating in our town started before dark, which was weird. The kids had thought about waiting til the second hour to go trick-or-treating. By the time 6:00 rolled around, though, they were quite anxious to get going and decided not to wait.

Maya was the first one to pick out a costume this fall. She said she had always been something cute before and wanted to be something scary this year. She knew this was the costume for her as soon as she laid eyes on it.

Riley decided to dress as one of his favorite pro skaters, Nyjah Houston.

And Seth decided on Diego, though he decided against carrying the backpack or dyeing his hair dark.

After trick-or-treating, they came home to sort, trade, and eat candy and play Guitar Hero III.
